The DM-TP 15KSI non-rotating retrievable mechanical packer features a concentric bypass and continuously indexed J-groove. When entering the well, the bypass device is open until the slip setting is completed. The bypass is kept closed by the balance piston, which uses the tubing string pressure to apply a downward force to the balance coupling to prevent the bypass from being pumped open. When the J-groove locking mechanism fails, the packer does not need to be rotated, but only needs to be pressed down or lifted up to achieve the setting and retrieval of the packer.
