The SNE-S tubing-retrievable safety valve (TRSV) is designed to prevent fluid flow to the surface uncontrollably and will close automatically when a well is failure. The safety valve is normally closed. The safety valve can be opened by hydraulic control pressure and remains open until the control-line pressure is exhausted. The SNE-S TRSV is a self-equalizing safety valve. To open the valve requires open the self-equalizing path and then equalize the pressure across the closure device. Once the pressure has been equalized across the flapper, the flapper can be opened easily. The SNE-S series TRSVs are designed for large drift diameter applications, allowing full-open production in smaller casings and maximized production paths in larger tubing sizes for higher production rates.
