LOCK MANDREL

The lock mandrel is a downhole tool that plays a fixed role in the well. Most lock mandrels need to be matched with landing nipple when they are fixed underground. A few can be fixed to conventional tubing couplings or to any location within the tubing with slips.

RUNNING TOOL FOR LOCK MANDREL

A running tool is needed to set the lock mandrel in the landing nipple. Connect the lock mandrel to the running tool and then install it under the basic tool string to run in hole.

In the process of RIH, the lock mandrel and its running tool are selective, when the tool string run through the landing nipple to be set, the lock mandrel and its running tool are still selective; then lift the tool string above the landing nipple, during this process, the lock mandrel and its running tool become non-selective, the locking keys expand. Lower the tool string, the locking keys set in the landing nipple, jar down to cut shear pins of the running tool, continue to jar down, the lock mandrel can be fully set in the landing nipple.

PULLING TOOL FOR LOCK MANDREL

The pulling tools are designed for retrieval of downhole lock devices (lock mandrel) or other downhole tools. The inner fishing neck is provided at the top of the lock mandrel, the claw at the bottom of running tool stuck in the inner fishing neck, the lock mandrel can be unlocked and retrieved by lifting the pulling tool.
